North of Nordman, Idaho, is the Roosevelt Grove of Ancient Cedars, a magical grove of giant cedar trees. While the age of the cedars is unknown, it is estimated that the average tree is 800 years old, with a few trees ranging in age from 2000-3000 years old. With the cedar trees reaching heights of 150 feet and spanning 12 feet wide, these impressive trees are for anyone who wants to revel in the beauty of an ancient forest. There are a few different walking trails to choose from, including an easy, family-friendly hike that takes you to various viewings of Granite Falls waterfall. You can get directions to the trailhead here. While technically located in Washington, the grove is accessed in Idaho.
